Consigning With Us
The Silk Purse is always in need of quality consignments, and can handle an entire estate or a single item.
If your items are small enough, just bring them into the store. We accept consignments on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. If you have large items, we can frequently determine acceptability and selling price from pictures, which can be sent via email to info@thesilkpurse.com or sent by regular mail or brought into the store. If need be, we can make a house call. You will receive a written receipt when an item is accepted for consignment.
The Consignor receives 64.66% of the selling price, and we mail our consignor checks on the first of each month along with a print out showing what's been sold. If an item doesn't sell in two months, we reduce the price by 10%, and then again another 10% in another two months. The consignor may take an item back at any time, and MUST take it back after it's been in the store for six months. We also have the right to ask the consignor to take back an item at any time.
